I then decided to load the Avid driver 10.3.3 and I was able to go into my audio preferences in both Logic X and PT and select the AVID 003 (the Everything is great, but no sound out of Logic X. check over here
I've tried the following 002/003 drivers: 9.0r3 9.0 from here: Digi 002 and 003 Drivers Every time I install either of those drivers, it puts DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin in the Library/Audio/MidiDrivers folder. The apollo and 16.4.2 definitely do not have this issue. i can use my 002 in studio only with my G5 PPC (has Logic and ProTools LE 8.0.1, so have all i need except that SPDIF does'nt work either) and use I never believed in USB stuff, but took the plunge with the Audient and it's USB connectors and the thing rocks. Digi never did anything to optimize the drivers above Mountain Lion and if you are Mavericks or above, then you will get that horrible kernel problem.
