Buffer problems on the XP machine, making music sound broken up and distorted. Not-yet-available optional daughtercards will attach to the "MX-Link" connector on the back of the MX300 and add things like S/PDIF input-output ports with full Dolby Digital 5.1 channel support. I think they are a bit overblown on the A3D stuff, but it is pretty neat in some games. The upcoming MX-Link boards for the MX300 promise to give it most if not all of these features. Software that had to run on a PC from 1997-1999 or so. You can do real composition with this program. You should hear what a Ensoniq Soundscape sounds like doing it's FM emu.

Using a technique developed by NASA (!) called HRTF filtering (Head Related Transfer Function), the card did just that. The Vortex cards are good cards.
